CERAMICS AT IMAGINE

Some art at Imagine is displayed. Some of it we drink tea from.

Our ceramic collection has grown organically, through pieces that already had a story or simply felt as though they belonged here.

Sam Gold — The Wedding Cups

Our little ceramic cups by Sam Gold actually pre-date Imagine.

They were originally handmade as espresso cups for Sally and Hal's wedding and given to guests as wedding gifts. A handful of extras remained and eventually made their way into the studio.

Now, when Adelaide gets cold, they come out for cups of tea during bridal appointments.

We love the full circle of it — something handmade to celebrate one wedding becoming part of the ritual of women preparing for theirs.

Nicola Claire — ADORNED

On the wall, ceramics take on an entirely different form.

Imagine is also home to a piece by Nicola Claire Ceramics, from her solo exhibition ADORNED.

Rather than treating art as something separate from the bridal environment, we like allowing these pieces to sit naturally amongst the gowns, furniture and everyday life of the studio.

Together, the ceramics represent what The Studio Collection is becoming: objects with provenance, craftsmanship and a reason for being here.

LOVE SOMETHING YOU SEE?

Many of the artists and makers featured in The Studio Collection create work to purchase or accept private commissions. If you're searching for an original wedding, engagement or anniversary gift — or simply love something you've discovered at Imagine, email us and we'll help point you towards the artist.
