Imagine Bridal Studio is a locally owned bridal boutique on Payneham Road, Adelaide, bringing together designer wedding gowns, art, and a personal approach to bridal.
Our collection is deliberately considered. Our appointments are one-to-one. Our studio is filled with pieces made by artists, designers and people whose work we love.
Imagine isn't intended to feel like a bridal store that could exist anywhere.
It is a space built here, for brides who are looking for something special.
THE STUDIO
The Imagine studio is part bridal boutique, part evolving collection.
Alongside the gowns you'll find original glass, ceramics and objects by local artists and makers, mixed with furniture, architectural pieces and details we've collected simply because we love them.
Our furniture is sourced through Vanguard Trading, with unique and architectural pieces discovered through Stepney Architectural Traders. They're pieces with texture, history and personality, the opposite of creating a bridal store from a standard retail fit-out.
Our evolving HYGGE Studio installation continues that thinking. Custom-made lace lighting, embroidered lamps and sconces, considered window treatments and small details made specifically for Imagine bring another layer of craft into the space.
Even the details connect. Lo & Co tassels used within the new window treatment reappear on the hangers holding our gowns. Local glass, ceramics, florals and sensory pieces sit amongst the bridal collection rather than being treated simply as decoration.
Nothing is here because it's what a bridal shop is supposed to look like.
We choose pieces because they're beautifully made, interesting, local, unexpected, old, new or simply because they make us feel something.
In many ways, the studio is becoming its own portfolio of Australian design, local art, found objects and bridal fashion.
It changes. We add to it. Artists and makers become part of it.
Imagine isn't meant to look like a bridal boutique that could exist in every city. It belongs here, in Adelaide.
THE DRESSES
Designer bridal, deliberately limited.
There are more places than ever to buy a white dress.
We still believe there is something different about a beautifully made wedding gown.
Fabric. Internal structure. Boning. Cups. Pattern cutting. Movement. Fit. The way a bodice holds the body and the way a train falls behind it.
Our collection of designer wedding dresses in Adelaide is deliberately curated rather than enormous, featuring Australian and international bridal designers including Jane Hill, Anna Campbell, Trish Peng and Elli-Nicole.
We don't want every gown, and we don't want our gowns to be everywhere.
Many styles will only ever be chosen by a handful of Imagine brides before we retire them from our Adelaide collection and introduce something new.
Most are made to order, with measurements and designer sizing considered before your gown is ordered for you. Depending on the designer, we can also explore customisations and guide you through what is possible.
It's slower, more personal and more considered than mass-produced fashion.
Bridal is a craft of its own.
THE BRIDE
It has never been just about the dress.
Imagine is built around one person: the person wearing it.
You don't need to arrive knowing your silhouette, bridal vocabulary or exactly what you want.
Your Dress Discovery is a private 1.5-hour bridal appointment where we get to know you first your style, your wedding, what you've already tried, what you're curious about and, importantly, how you want to feel.
Then we explore.
Instead of working through endless racks, we'll guide you through a considered collection, explain fit and fabrication, suggest things you might not have considered and give you space when you need it.
Bring your favourite people. BYO bottle of sparkling. The studio is yours.
Because finding a wedding dress is about much more than choosing the prettiest thing in the room.

That philosophy was recently highlighted when founder Sally Dean was featured by AdelaideNow among South Australia's young business talent for her work across Imagine Bridal Studio and L'Archive Bridal.

Imagine Bridal Studio is independently owned and operated in Adelaide.
That matters to us.
There isn't a national buying department choosing our gowns, a prescribed store format or a head office deciding what Imagine should become.
The people you meet in the studio are connected to the decisions behind it, from the designers on the rails to the artists on the walls and the way we think a bridal appointment should feel.
Sally Dean leads Imagine and its creative direction, buying and bridal experience, with a particular interest in the psychology behind how people make emotional decisions and experience something as significant as choosing a wedding gown.
And Imagine has increasingly become a family affair, with Hal and Rona part of the wider world behind the business.
What began as one independent Adelaide bridal boutique is slowly becoming something broader: Imagine Bridal Studio, L'Archive Bridal, The Edit and a growing collection of ideas around how bridal can be experienced differently.
But Imagine itself remains intentionally personal.
A small business. A considered collection. And people who genuinely care about getting bridal right.
Our Team
Meet Sally
Hello, I’m Sally the owner of Imagine Bridal Studio and founder of L’Archive Bridal.
My path here has been anything but traditional. I began my career managing trampoline parks, moved into wedding-venue management and now work within a local government arts centre alongside running my bridal businesses.
I hold a degree in marketing and completed postgraduate studies in Arts and Cultural Management at UniSA in 2026. I’m also a mum, an avid thrifter and someone whose brain is usually developing the next idea before the current one is finished.
In 2026, I was profiled by The Advertiser among South Australia’s leading young business talents under 40. It was a lovely moment of recognition but the work that matters most to me still happens quietly, in conversations with people.
For me, it has never been just about the dress
Every weekend, I hear stories about love, family, identity, body confidence, grief, celebration and change. All of those things can enter the fitting room with a bride.
My approach begins with listening. I want to understand what makes you comfortable, what you are genuinely drawn to and how you want to feel not simply place you in the gown I want to sell.
Some brides arrive knowing exactly what they want. Others feel anxious, overwhelmed or unsure whether they belong in a bridal boutique at all. Both deserve patience, honesty and the space to be themselves.
That philosophy shapes Imagine Bridal Studio: private appointments, thoughtful designers, genuine guidance and no unnecessary pressure.
Creating something different
Owning Imagine gave me insight into the full lifecycle of a wedding gown. I began questioning what happened to beautiful boutique samples once they were discontinued and to wedding gowns after the wedding itself.
That question, together with several vintage gowns I discovered while thrifting in Paris, led me to create L’Archive Bridal: Adelaide’s first dedicated pre-loved and consignment bridal boutique.
Imagine and L’Archive now offer two different but complementary ways to find a gown beautifully made new designs and quality bridal sourced differently.
I’m endlessly curious and always learning, experimenting or finding someone interesting to collaborate with. I love independent designers, creative people, beautiful spaces and ideas that make established industries feel more thoughtful and human.
Imagine isn’t a large or anonymous retail operation. It is a small, owner-led Adelaide bridal studio shaped by real conversations and genuine relationships.
Most importantly, I’m Sally and I would love to welcome you into the studio, get to know you and hear your story.
